The top applicants will be invited by email to take part in a telephone or Skype interview in mid-February.

Interview of shortlisted candidates

The interview will last 30-40 minutes is designed to explore candidates’ motivation to study on the ADVANCES course, their critical thinking skills and understanding of social work issues.  Candidates will also be able to ask questions about the ADVANCES course.  The atmosphere is designed to be relaxed and informative.

Where possible, interviews will be conducted using Skype (audio and/or video).  Alternatively, it will be possible to phone shortlisted candidates on a landline or mobile number.

Final selection

The final ranking of applicants will be made by combining the scores from the paper applications (50%) with interview performance (50%).  Candidates will be informed whether they are offered a place and whether they are recommended to the European Commission for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

Please note that the award of a place and Erasmus Mundus scholarship are separate decisions.  Unfortunately scholarships are limited and cannot be awarded to all candidates holding a place.
